We are building a deep content authority site focused on a specific medical condition. The website will feature a blog, news feeds and extensive articles on a broad range of medical condition specific topics. This site will include a membership section which will offer to members a sophisticated web-application aimed at helping individuals suffering from this condition with managing it. This will include tracking symptoms, researching and structuring treatment options, putting together treatment programs and generating detailed reports from data entered over time. The overall site will provide trusted and comprehensive information about the medical condition and valuable tools integrated into a structured program aimed at helping the member in managing the medical condition and building the best possible individual treatment program.

The Main site will focus on rapidly engaging users with rich content and getting visitors to opt-in to a free e-book offer and in generating interest in the featured web-application associated with the paid membership service. This page will give an intuitive overview of the main focus of the entire site, will feature video overview content and will promote the ebook free offer. The design should be simple, creative, professional and vibrant. The use of Medical topic or related images will convey the right message. Users should feel hope that they have found a place where they will find real help. It must feature complete navigation options in an attractive and obvious manner. It needs to be upbeat and fun in flavor while still being taken seriously. Sub-heading sections will maintain the same design theme throughout but creative menus, navigation and graphics will enhance the user experience. The web application will have graphical UI elements with distinct progressive pain indicating colors and matching colored versions of the Wong/Baker pain scale animated faces. These images are uploaded for review. These colors may be used to integrate with the design but this is not a requirement - designers are encouraged to be creative (because I am not!) See the additional notes relative to the linked wireframe for details on functionality required.

This lucidchart wireframe mockup gives an overview of the navigation and functionality that needs to be taken into account. This mockup is meant to convey all the various elements and navigation that is needed - it is not meant to necessarily serve as a design guide particularly from an artistic or creative standpoint. This wireframe demonstrates the limitations of my creativity and so should not limit yours! Designers are encouraged to not limit themselves to the typical type of navigation this wireframe uses.

IMPORTANT- The shaded elements can be clicked to demonstrate some of the navigation that will be required and to give a better feel for the overall site. When you click a shaded element you must click it again to hide the content before clicking on another shaded element. Failure to do this will cause the popup elements to overlay each other and rapidly make the display a mess.
Here are some other sites based on the Wordpress Thesis them that are interesting from a design standpoint-

The custom web application itself will not be part of the wordpress site but rather will be custom developed. This design contest is for the main site and various internal areas inside the site associated with headings and sub headings where the design will be consistently maintained. It is highly likely that we will wish to engage the winning designer in additional support work as the project progresses. The target market is typically female, aged 20-60, and is overwhelmed by their medical condition and seeking reassurance and support. Chronic frustrating pain is a common factor. If a designer feels that additional details and specifics on the medical condition would be helpful please send a private message and more details will be provided.
The design should incorporate all the popular social media widgets, RSS feed options, opt-in capabilities,
