Preferred Font: Something bold and easy to read. Probably, but not necessarily, all caps. No script or gothic.

DESIGN IDEAS:
Make a BOLD and PROUD statement.
Preferred Colors: Red, White and Blue.
No violent imagery: Weapons, bullets, blood, soldiers, etc. An 'angry' eagle is about as violent as we want.
