just a quick note to our final designers: we're still looking for revisions, improvements, and interesting new ideas. i don't feel like we've found our logo, yet.

so, i think there are a few designs that are really starting to develop something: check out 34, 46, 47, 55. of course, i really appreciate all of your ideas, so far, but even those designs are still only at three stars. i'm looking to be really impressed to move forward and win the contest, so here's a few things:

1) i'm not a big fan of all type in a logo design. i do want there to be a great font idea, and i'm not in love with any of the font designs so far. aside from that, though, i would like to see an icon or image alongside it.
2) i am a big fan of design craft and technique. please try to use art and skill in your design. think about how you might filter or alter or play with some of the ideas you're thinking about. think about how the parts play off of each other and think about how you can do that idea differently with space (or negative space) and dimension and angles.
3) i definitely feel like the cityscape/schoolscape idea will move with us, but i also love seeing the abstract-ish designs starting to pop up. i'd love to see more and different takes on the ideas and images. we're not at all locked into one idea.
4) i'm not really a big fan of the "globe" image, here. i see that that's popped up, but i'm not sure that it's the right direction. it hints at other things, i think. think about who we are: we're an independent podcast (radio) series. we'll be recording two middle school students and one teacher. we're interested in education reform in public school. we're located in brooklyn, new york. we're for parents and students. we're located inside and outside of school.

on the one hand, i do like the sense of a school building and the city as symbols for "school" and "life", and i'd love to see that concept move forward.

on the other hand, i'd also really love to see other takes on it, too, if possible. what are other ways or other symbols that can also represent our brand?

1) please include inspiration from both the city (life) and school (life). the project will follow students inside and outside of school.

2) use different fonts for "school" and "life", please.
